Although our height is most determined by our genetics, there are some foods that can help us improve our height.

When we were little, our moms would give us a glass of milk before going to bed, telling us it will make us grow taller. Is this really possible?

Calcium is one the main aspects of our growing process, and one cup of milk is equivalent to taking 300mg of calcium.

Milk is also rich in several other nutrients, such as vitamins A, C, D, some of the B vitamins, as well as other proteins.

Milk can indeed make you taller, and it also improves bone structure and bone density, wich incorporated, makes your body stronger. The most important substances in milk, that will have the greatest effect on our growth are the following ones:

Vitamin C

This is another vitamin one should include in the diet in order to grow taller. This vitamin helps cope with illness and improves the immune system. A good health base will eventually result in a better growth. This vitamin improves production of collagen and strengthens the bones. The most common source of vitamin C are the citruses.

Vitamin D

Several foods contain this vitamin: milk, eggs, some cereals and fish oil. It can be absorbed via sun exposure. It is essential for keeping your body filled with calcium, which is a key to improving the growth and strength.
